For Domo we made a blow-up of a stick vacuum cleaner of 2.4 m tall. We started by making a 3D scan of the existing vacuum cleaner. We "blew up" the digital 3D model, derived from the scan data, to 2 times the actual size. At the top we added some holes to connect the vacuum cleaner to the robot.
The final digital model was split into 3 parts to be printed separately on a large format 3D printer. After printing, the 3 parts were re-assembled into one single unit. In certain places, uneven surfaces of the printing have been sanded and plastered. So we got this model:
The vacuum cleaner was then taken care of by a graffiti artist who colored it according to the theme of the transformer robot. With this as a result:
For the sake of clarity: the robot itself already existed and was not made by us.
